The 2011 Kia Optima is doing just fine garnering attention on its own (see http://tinyurl.com/45m5fan ) but rookie NBA daredevil Blake Griffin has literally taken that attention to new heights.
Kia Motors America was the official automotive partner of the NBA All-Star weekend at L.A.’s Staples Center February 19th. When approached about the NBA Sprite Slam Dunk contest Griffin says he initially joked about jumping over a car but then realized he’d have to follow through…. Which was apparently no problem.
Griffin soared over the Kia’s hood, swept up a pass from Clippers teammate Baron Davis (thrown from the Optima’s sunroof), and slammed the ball home.
You’ll also be seeing a whole lot more of Griffin’s historic jump, you at least in print form as part of Kia’s Optima ad campaign. If you haven’t checked out the 2011 Kia, though, you should. Just don’t try Griffin’s stunt at home.
